Maya Finance (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a product of Maya AI, operated from the United Arab Emirates. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use the Maya Finance platform (“the Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, trade licence number, and TRN (Tax Registration Number) where applicable.
2.2 Financial Data
To provide bookkeeping services, we process bank transaction data, invoices, bills, receipts, payroll information, and other financial records you upload or connect to the platform.
2.3 Bank Connection Data
When you connect a bank account, we receive transaction data through secure API connections or file uploads (CSV, MT940). We do not store your bank login credentials. Bank connections use PSD2-equivalent security standards with read-only access.
2.4 Usage Data
We collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used, and interactions with the AI advisor. This data is used to improve the Service and is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide and maintain the bookkeeping Service
- Auto-categorize transactions and prepare financial reports
- Generate VAT returns, invoices, and other financial documents
- Power the AI advisor (Ask Finn) with context from your books
- Send service-related notifications (filing deadlines, payment reminders)
- Improve our AI classification accuracy and product features
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on European-grade infrastructure with encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). We maintain strict access controls, audit logging, and regular security assessments.
Bank credentials are never stored on our servers. Financial data is logically isolated per customer account with no cross-tenant access.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following categories of third-party services to operate the platform:
- Cloud infrastructure: Hosting, database, and storage services
- Payment processing: Secure payment collection for subscription billing
- Email delivery: Transactional emails (invoices, reminders, notifications)
- AI services: Language model providers for the AI advisor feature
All third-party providers are bound by data processing agreements and are selected for their security and privacy standards.
6. UAE Data Protection
We comply with applicable UAE data protection regulations, including the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. Where applicable, we also align with international standards including GDPR principles for data subjects in the European Economic Area.
7. Data Retention
We retain your financial data for as long as your account is active and for a period of 7 years thereafter, in line with UAE regulatory requirements for financial records. You may request earlier deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations.

You have the right to:
- Access and receive a copy of your personal data
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Export your financial data in standard formats (CSV, PDF)
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing

9. Cookies
The Service uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics cookies, if used, are anonymized and can be disabled in your browser settings.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
